Western Sydney Planning, in consultation with the client and broader project team, successfully secured development consent for major upgrade works to the Epping Aquatic Centre, an important piece of social infrastructure serving the local community.
The proposal involved substantial works to modernise the ageing facility, improve accessibility and functionality, and ensure the centre could continue to meet the recreational needs of the community.
Given the significant site constraints, including endangered ecological communities, existing use rights and heritage considerations, these matters required careful consideration throughout the design and planning process.
Western Sydney Planning worked closely with Council officers, the broader project team and the Sydney Central City Planning Panel throughout the assessment process, successfully navigating these complex planning considerations and ultimately securing development consent for the project.
